Hybrid Shovelnose Catfish (Pseudoplatystoma spp. x Leiarius spp.)
Description:
The Hybrid Shovelnose Catfish is a striking freshwater predator, typically a cross between the Tiger Shovelnose Catfish (Pseudoplatystoma fasciatum) and the Redtail Catfish (Phractocephalus hemioliopterus) or the Sailfin Pimelodid (Leiarius marmoratus). This hybrid boasts a beautifully patterned body with a mix of stripes and spots, and a broad, flat "shovel"-like snout. They grow rapidly and develop into impressive showpieces, ideal for large predator tanks or indoor ponds.
