Fogging Mountain stone is one of the most popular aquascaping rocks, known for its striking, rugged appearance. It is often used in Iwagumi-style aquascapes, where rocks take center stage to create natural, mountain-like landscapes.
Key Features:
✅ Color – Typically bluish-gray with white veins of calcite running through it.
✅ Texture – Jagged, rough, and highly detailed, giving it a weathered mountain look.
✅ Composition – Primarily limestone, which slightly raises water hardness due to calcium carbonate content.
✅ Shape – Comes in various sizes with sharp edges and crevices, ideal for creating depth and dramatic rock formations.
Aquascaping Use:
- Often arranged in triangle compositions for natural mountain scapes.
- Pairs well with carpet plants like Monte Carlo, Dwarf Hairgrass, or Hemianthus Callitrichoides (HC Cuba).
- Works great with mosses like Java moss or Riccardia, which can grow in its crevices.
🔹 Note: Since Seiryu stone affects pH and water hardness, it’s best suited for aquariums with fish and plants that tolerate slightly harder water.
