The 24K Malayan Gold Torch Coral is a highly sought-after variety of Euphyllia glabrescens, known for its vibrant golden-yellow tentacles with glowing green or orange tips. This LPS (Large Polyp Stony) coral adds dramatic movement and color to reef aquariums, making it a prized addition for hobbyists.

Care Requirements:

1. Lighting

• Moderate to High (PAR 100-250)
• Prefers LED or T5 lighting with a gentle acclimation period to prevent stress.

2. Flow

• Moderate to Strong
• Needs indirect, alternating flow to prevent damage to delicate tentacles while keeping detritus from settling.

3. Placement

• Mid to lower levels of the tank, depending on lighting intensity.
• Provide space between other corals, as torch corals have long, stinging sweeper tentacles (up to 6 inches).

• Temperature: 76-80°F (24-27°C)
• Salinity: 1.025 SG (35 ppt)
• pH: 8.1-8.4
• Alkalinity: 8-12 dKH
• Calcium: 400-450 ppm
• Magnesium: 1250-1350 ppm
• Nitrates: 5-10 ppm
• Phosphates: 0.01-0.05 ppm

5. Feeding

• Photosynthetic but benefits from feeding.
• Weekly target feeding with meaty foods like mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and coral foods (e.g., Reef Roids).

6. Tank Mates & Compatibility

• Avoid aggressive corals that may sting or get stung by the torch.
• Clownfish may host in it, but excessive rubbing can stress the coral.
• Safe with most reef fish, but avoid nippy fish like butterflyfish or large angelfish.

7. Special Considerations

• Avoid sudden parameter swings, especially alkalinity and temperature.
• Dipping before adding to the tank helps prevent pests like flatworms or brown jelly disease.
• Torches can be fragile during shipping, so handle them carefully.
