BOTTOM DRAINS

Bottom drains are essential in any pond. All the waste material and ammonia settle at the bottom of the bond, thus a suction point is needed to ensure that all waste material is removed and filtered through the mechanical and biological filtration.

Bottom drains also make pond maintenance easier as you should never need to drain the pond to clear out built up waste or sludge in the pond if it is continuously removed mechanically by the filtration.

SIZES AND TYPES OF DRAIN AVAILABLE:

  • 50mm Concrete Bottom Drain:These drains are set in the floor of a concrete shell pond and connected by a 50mm pipe to the pump and subsequent filtration

  • 110mm Concrete Bottom Drain:These are used on ponds that utilize a sump before the pump suction and on gravity filter chambers that use filter brushes. These drains offer superior flow compare to the direct suction drains such as the 50mm bottom drain

  • 50mm Liner Bottom Drain:Liner bottom drains are excellent for fibreglass, plastic or rubber lined ponds that do not have a concrete shell. The lining or shell of the pond is clamped by the flanges to might a water tight seal with the pond

  • 110mm Liner Bottom Drain:These are used on liner ponds such as fibreglass, plastic or rubber used extensively on the aqua-culture industries in PVC tunnel farms  due to the ease of use and quick installation on low energy fish farms.

  • 50mm Custom Bottom Drain:The custom bottom drain is for those ponds that have already been cast in concrete and do not have a bottom drains. All pipe work is then surface mounted and attached to the top of the bottom drain dome to create a suction off the floor of the pond

  • 110mm Conversion Bottom Drain:These are used on ponds that have gully drains without a dome. The dome is essential as an anti vortex. The machine fitting makes a tight fit into the gully drain and allows normal flow of water into the gully without creating a vortex

  • 50mm Diffuser Bottom Drain:Diffuser bottom drain s integrate the suction point of the pond/drain with an air diffuser. This creates a current pf water towards the drain which assists in removing the solid waste whilst infusing oxygen (O2) into the water to increase the O2 levels in the pond.

  • 110 Diffuser Bottom Drain:Diffuser bottom drains integrate the suction point of the pond/drain with an air diffuser. This creates a current pf water towards the drain which assists in removing the solid waste whilst infusing oxygen (O2) into the water to increase the O2 levels in the pond.
