Virbac Milpro for Dogs is a broad-spectrum, palatable, film-coated deworming tablet designed to treat and control intestinal worms (roundworm, hookworm, whipworm, tapeworm) and prevent heartworm in dogs. Using milbemycin oxime and praziquantel, it is designed for easy administration in a small tablet and is generally recommended for dogs weighing 5 kg or more

  • Broad-Spectrum Protection: Highly effective against common cestodes (tapeworms, including Echinococcus spp.) and nematodes (hookworms, roundworms, whipworms, Spirocerca lupi).
  • Heartworm Prevention: When used monthly, it effectively prevents Dirofilaria immitis (heartworm).
  • Highly Palatable: Film-coated and meat-flavoured, often accepted voluntarily by dogs.
  • Easy Dosing: Small, ovoid, and scored on both sides for splitting, allowing for accurate, easy administration
Dosage and Administration
  • Dosage: Minimum recommended dose is \(0.5 \text{ mg}\) milbemycin oxime and \(5 \text{ mg}\) praziquantel per kg.
  • Timing: Administer with or after food for maximum efficacy.
  • Adult Dogs: Typically treated 4 times a year (every 3 months).
  • Weight Ranges:
    • 5 – 25 kg: 1 Tablet
    • 25 – 50 kg: 2 Tablets
    • 50 – 75 kg: 3 Tablets
Warnings and Safety Information
  • Not suitable for puppies younger than 6 weeks of age.
  • Not recommended for dogs with a body mass of less than 5 kg (use Milpro for Small Dogs/Puppies instead).
  • Caution should be used in Collies or related breeds due to lower safety margins.
  • Consult a vet if the dog is severely debilitated or has kidney/liver issues.
