Product Description

All our fish, shrimp and corals are bagged with fresh oxygen as well as a heat pack in winter.

When ordering livestock please select the box size and add it to your cart for accurate overnight (1-2 days) shipping costs. A small box can take 1-2 bags and a medium box 6 bags. One bag fits max 10 small (1-3cm) fish or max 2 medium (3-5cm) fish or max 1 large (>5cm) fish.

ONE SPECIES PER BAG. Eg: One bag of 10 neon tetra.

Veiltail Angelfish (Pterophyllum scalare)

Graceful freshwater beauty with long flowing fins

Description:

  • Long-finned variety of the common angelfish, known for its elegant, trailing fins

  • Available in a range of colors and patterns (silver, marble, koi, gold, etc.)

  • Adds height, movement, and grace to any aquarium

  • Best kept in taller tanks to accommodate its fin length

Care Requirements:

  • Care Level: Moderate

  • Temperament: Semi-peaceful (can be territorial, especially when breeding)

  • Max Size: 15 cm (body) / up to 20+ cm including fins

  • Tank Size: Minimum 100L (taller tanks preferred)

  • Temperature: 24–28°C

  • pH: 6.5–7.5

  • Water Hardness: Soft to moderately hard

  • Diet: Omnivorous – accepts flakes, pellets, frozen, and live foods

  • Tank Setup:

    • Well-planted aquarium with open swimming space

    • Gentle filtration (avoid strong currents that may damage fins)

    • Use driftwood or vertical structures to mimic natural habitat

  • Compatibility:

    • Best with peaceful to semi-aggressive tank mates

    • Avoid fin-nippers like barbs

    • Can be kept in groups, but watch for aggression when pairing off

Breeding:

  • Breeding pairs often form naturally

  • Lay eggs on vertical surfaces (like broad leaves or aquarium glass)

  • May become territorial during breeding
