All our fish, shrimp and corals are bagged with fresh oxygen as well as a heat pack in winter.

When ordering livestock please select the box size and add it to your cart for accurate overnight (1-2 days) shipping costs. A small box can take 1-2 bags and a medium box 6 bags. One bag fits max 10 small (1-3cm) fish or max 2 medium (3-5cm) fish or max 1 large (>5cm) fish.

Golden Torpedo Barb (Sahyadria denisonii “Golden”)

Description:
The Golden Torpedo Barb is a stunning colour morph of the popular Denison Barb (Red-Line Torpedo Barb). Instead of the usual silver body with a red stripe, this variant displays a striking golden body, sometimes with faint traces of the red and black markings. Active, elegant, and highly social, they make a dazzling centrepiece in larger community aquariums.

Care Level: Moderate

Temperament: Peaceful, schooling

Maximum Size: ~12–15 cm

Diet: Omnivore – thrives on a varied diet of high-quality flakes, pellets, frozen foods (bloodworm, brine shrimp), and fresh vegetables such as blanched spinach or zucchini.

Aquarium Requirements:

• Minimum Tank Size: 300 litres

• Water Parameters:

  • Temperature: 22–27°C

  • pH: 6.5–7.5

  • Hardness: Soft to moderately hard

• Environment: Spacious aquariums with strong filtration, open swimming areas, and planted edges. They appreciate clean, well-oxygenated water with good flow.

Compatibility:
Excellent community fish when kept in groups of 6 or more. Suitable tankmates include larger peaceful barbs, rainbowfish, gouramis, angelfish, loaches, and catfish. Avoid very small or timid fish that may be stressed by their fast swimming.

Notes:

• Best colours and behaviour are seen in larger shoals.

• Provide a tight-fitting lid as they are powerful jumpers.

• A rare and highly sought-after morph that adds a unique golden shimmer to display tanks.
