Description:
The Disco Blenny is a colorful and energetic reef-safe fish known for its sleek black and yellow horizontal stripes and glowing appearance under reef lighting. Its eye-catching shimmer and lively swimming behavior give it the nickname "Disco" in the aquarium trade.

This species belongs to the fang blenny group, equipped with small venomous fangs used only in defense. Despite that, the Disco Blenny is peaceful, hardy, and a favorite for nano to mid-size reef tanks.

• Diet: Carnivore – Eats brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, and quality marine pellets or flakes

  • pH: 8.1–8.4

  • dKH: 8–12

Notes:

• Best kept singly unless in a large system

• Venom is harmless to humans, used only if attacked by predators

• A good jumper – tank lid recommended

• Helps deter aggression from larger fish due to its venomous defense

Why It's Called "Disco":
Its vivid striped body and the way it reflects blue and actinic lighting give it a glowing, almost strobe-like appearance—hence the “disco” name!
