🐉 Dragon Soul Torch Coral (Euphyllia glabrescens) – Care & Description
Description:
The Dragon Soul Torch Coral is one of the most coveted and eye-catching torches in the reef hobby. With its vibrant, metallic green base, intense golden-yellow tentacles, and electric blue or purple tips, this coral adds unmatched motion and color to any reef tank. Each head sways gracefully in the current, resembling flames dancing underwater.
This coral is a LPS (Large Polyp Stony) species and is considered moderately challenging, making it ideal for intermediate to advanced hobbyists. Dragon Soul Torches are often the centerpiece of Euphyllia gardens or high-end reef aquascapes.

⚠️ Placement & Aggression:
Torch corals have long, stinging sweeper tentacles, so give them plenty of space (at least 3–5 inches) from other corals, especially SPS or other LPS. Ideal placement is mid to low in the tank depending on your lighting setup.
💡 Pro Tips:
-
Acclimate slowly to strong lighting to avoid bleaching.
-
Watch for pests like flatworms or brown jelly infections.
-
Use a turkey baster or flow to blow off debris regularly.
