Product Description

All our fish, shrimp and corals are bagged with fresh oxygen as well as a heat pack in winter.

When ordering livestock please select the box size and add it to your cart for accurate overnight (1-2 days) shipping costs. A small box can take 1-2 bags and a medium box 6 bags. One bag fits max 10 small (1-3cm) fish or max 2 medium (3-5cm) fish or max 1 large (>5cm) fish.

ONE SPECIES PER BAG. Eg: One bag of 10 neon tetra.

Description:
The Flame Paradise Fish (Macropodus opercularis) is a visually stunning freshwater species from Southeast Asia, prized for its bright red and blue coloration and elegant fins. Hardy and active, this fish is perfect for aquarists looking for a lively centerpiece in a community or species-specific tank. Males display vibrant colours, especially during breeding, making them a striking addition to any aquarium.

Care Requirements:

  • Temperature: 22–28°C

  • pH: 6.0–8.0

  • Hardness: 6–15 dGH

  • Tank Size: 40L+ (larger tanks recommended for multiple individuals)

  • Diet: Omnivorous – high-quality flakes, pellets, live/frozen foods such as brine shrimp and bloodworms

  • Size: Up to 6–7 cm

  • Temperament: Generally peaceful but can be territorial, especially males

  • Tankmates: Best with robust, non-aggressive species; avoid slow-moving or long-finned fish

Additional Information:

  • Males build bubble nests and guard fry during breeding.

  • Provide plenty of plants, driftwood, or hiding spaces to reduce stress.

  • Known jumpers – a secure tank lid is essential.

  • Hardy species that tolerates a range of water conditions.
