When ordering livestock please select the box size and add it to your cart for accurate overnight (1-2 days) shipping costs. A small box can take 1-2 bags and a medium box 6 bags. One bag fits max 10 small (1-3cm) fish or max 2 medium (3-5cm) fish or max 1 large (>5cm) fish.

Platinum Lyretail Balloon Molly (Poecilia latipinna variant)

The Platinum Lyretail Balloon Molly is a striking and unique livebearer, instantly recognisable for its shimmering silver body, elongated lyretail fins, and distinctive rounded “balloon” body shape. This ornamental molly is peaceful, hardy, and well-suited for community aquariums. Its eye-catching platinum sheen makes it a standout addition to any tank.

Diet: Omnivore – enjoys algae-based flakes, quality pellets, and occasional live or frozen foods

Tank Setup: Provide a spacious aquarium with plants for cover and open areas for swimming. As with all molly varieties, slightly brackish water conditions can be beneficial. Keep more females than males to reduce male competition.

Breeding: Livebearer; prolific under suitable conditions. Balloon mollies should be bred with care, as their modified body shape can make them more sensitive to stress during pregnancy.
