Scientific Name: Neocaridina davidi
Common Name: Mid-Grade Orange Shrimp, Orange Sakura Shrimp

Description:
Mid-grade Orange Neocaridina shrimp are hardy, active freshwater invertebrates prized for their bright orange coloration and algae-eating abilities. While their hue is not as intense as high-grade lines, they still add a striking splash of colour to planted aquariums. These shrimp are perfect for hobbyists looking for a balance between affordability and beauty.

Care Requirements:

  • Tank Size: Minimum 10L (larger preferred for stable parameters)

  • Water Parameters:

    • Temperature: 20–26 °C

    • pH: 6.5–7.8

    • GH: 4–8

    • KH: 2–6

  • Diet: Omnivorous – accepts algae, biofilm, shrimp pellets, blanched vegetables (zucchini, spinach).

  • Temperament: Peaceful, best kept with other shrimp or small, non-aggressive fish.

  • Breeding: Easy – females carry eggs ("berried") and young develop fully in freshwater.

Lifespan: 1–2 years under good care.

Notes:

  • Best kept in planted aquariums with hiding spots.

  • Sensitive to copper and sudden water parameter changes.

  • Regular small water changes improve colour and breeding success.

⚠️ Please note: Received specimens may differ slightly in colour due to genetics, lighting, stress, or shipping.
