🟦 Naked Rasbora (Rasbora daniconius)
Description:
The Naked Rasbora is a slender, fast-swimming freshwater fish known for its translucent body and subtle silvery-gold hue. Native to slow-moving rivers and streams in South and Southeast Asia, this peaceful schooling species adds dynamic movement and a natural look to community aquariums. Its minimal coloration makes it ideal for biotope setups or as a dither fish in larger tanks.
Care Requirements:
-
Temperature: 22–28°C
-
pH: 6.0–7.5
-
Hardness: Soft to moderately hard water
-
Tank Size: Minimum 80 litres
-
Temperament: Peaceful, best kept in groups of 6 or more
-
Diet: Omnivore – accepts flakes, micro-pellets, live and frozen foods
-
Compatibility: Ideal for peaceful community tanks
Additional Notes:
Naked Rasboras thrive in well-planted aquariums with open swimming space and subdued lighting. A secure lid is recommended, as they are active swimmers that may jump. Regular water changes and a strong current help mimic their natural environment.
