Acan Coral

The Acan Coral (Micromussa lordhowensis, commonly known as Acan Lord) is a colourful and popular LPS coral prized for its large, fleshy polyps and incredible range of colour combinations. Depending on the variety, Acans can display shades of red, orange, green, blue, purple and yellow, often with contrasting rings and patterns across each polyp.

Acans generally form compact colonies of rounded polyps and are excellent for adding bold colour to the lower areas of a reef aquarium. They are relatively hardy once established and can grow steadily under stable conditions.

Important: Acans generally prefer lower lighting than many other LPS corals. When introducing them to a new aquarium, start them in a lower-light area and gradually acclimate them if necessary. Allow some space between the colony and neighbouring corals.
