Care
Albino Cherry Barbs are peaceful schooling fish that thrive in planted aquariums with gentle water flow. Their striking golden-white bodies with pink to red highlights stand out beautifully against lush green plants and darker substrates. Keep them in groups of at least 6–8 individuals, although larger schools of 10 or more will encourage natural behaviour and improve their confidence.
They are excellent community fish and can be housed with other peaceful species such as tetras, rasboras, corydoras, small gouramis, shrimp, and other peaceful barbs. A varied diet of quality micro pellets, flakes, frozen foods, and live treats will help maintain their vibrant colours and overall health.
Description
The Albino Cherry Barb is a beautiful selectively bred variety of the popular Cherry Barb, prized for its pale golden body, ruby-pink eyes, and subtle rosy blush that intensifies during feeding and breeding. Males often develop deeper pink to reddish tones when displaying, while females are typically slightly larger with a fuller body shape.
These hardy, easy-to-care-for fish are perfect for beginner and experienced aquarists alike. Their peaceful nature, active swimming behaviour, and attractive coloration make them an excellent choice for planted community aquariums where they add constant movement and colour without disturbing other tank inhabitants.
Suitable Tankmates:
- Tetras
