Kabadi Indian Almond Leaves
Kabadi Indian Almond Leaves
Bring the natural benefits of the wild to your aquarium with Kabadi Indian Almond Leaves (Catappa Leaves). These premium dried leaves slowly release beneficial tannins and humic substances into the water, helping to create a more natural environment for tropical fish, shrimp, and other aquatic species.
Indian Almond Leaves are widely used by breeders and hobbyists to support fish health, reduce stress during acclimation, and encourage natural behaviours. They also provide a valuable grazing surface for shrimp and fry by promoting the growth of biofilm.
Key Benefits
- Creates a natural blackwater environment
- Releases beneficial tannins and humic acids
- Helps reduce stress in fish during transport and acclimation
- Supports the natural slime coat and overall fish health
- Encourages biofilm growth for shrimp and fry to graze on
- May help inhibit certain harmful bacteria and fungi naturally
- Ideal for breeding tanks, shrimp aquariums, bettas, discus, tetras, apistogramma, and other blackwater species
Suitable For
- Freshwater tropical fish
- Betta fish
- Discus
- Shrimp (Neocaridina & Caridina)
- Corydoras
- Plecos
- South American cichlids
- Fry and breeding aquariums
Directions
Rinse the leaf before use and place it directly into the aquarium. The leaf will float initially before gradually sinking over a few days. As it decomposes, it releases natural tannins and can be left in the aquarium until fully broken down or replaced as desired.
Note
Indian Almond Leaves naturally tint the water a light amber or tea colour due to the release of tannins. This is completely normal and is beneficial for many tropical fish and shrimp species.
