Leaf Scorpionfish (Taenianotus triacanthus)
Description:

A fascinating ambush predator that resembles a drifting leaf or piece of algae, giving it excellent camouflage.

Comes in a wide range of colours – pink, yellow, brown, white, or mottled – and can even change shades over time.

Moves with a gentle rocking motion, mimicking a leaf caught in the current.

Temperament: Peaceful with similar-sized tankmates, but predatory toward small fish and shrimp.

Size: ~10 cm

Diet: Carnivore – prefers live foods such as small fish, ghost shrimp, or feeder shrimp. With patience, can be weaned onto frozen meaty foods (mysis, krill, silversides).
