Samar Conch

The Samar Conch is a peaceful, medium-sized marine snail that adds both beauty and activity to your reef tank. With a distinctive, sturdy shell and slow, graceful movements, it’s a delightful addition to any marine aquarium.

Size:

• Adults reach 6–8 cm (2.5–3 in) in shell length

• Foot spans ~2–3 cm, perfect for small- to medium-sized tanks

Care Level: Easy – ideal for beginner to intermediate reef keepers

Tank Requirements:

• Tank size: Minimum 120 L / 30 gal

• Substrate: Fine to medium sand bed (3–4 cm deep for burrowing)

• Water Parameters: Stable reef conditions — 25–28 °C, pH 8.1–8.4, salinity 1.023–1.025, calcium 400–450 ppm

Diet:

• Algae grazer (film algae, diatoms, and hair algae)

• Can be supplemented with algae wafers or blanched vegetables if natural food is scarce

Behavior & Compatibility:

• Peaceful and reef safe — won’t harm corals or anemones

• Active during the day, steadily grazing over rocks and sand

• Best paired with other small, peaceful invertebrates

• Avoid housing with large predatory fish
